Life is, of course, a wonderful amazing mystery. I have been blessed to see, experience, and feel through my eyes in unique ways. My husband and children have come to accept my quietude while we are driving. I have a tendency to look out of the passenger window in silence. During these near-meditative moments, I am internalizing the imagery that becomes etched in my mind. I believe these moments accumulate to what might be expressed later on a canvas. This is the same for our hikes together or our times on a sailboat.
My journey from New York and the experiences of painting still lifes and figures, to the Rocky Mountains painting grand vistas, has been an awakening in so many ways. Along this journey, I have been inspired by great artists, both living and historical. My teachers as well as my students have encouraged my growth and ability to express myself in unexpected ways. I have become more sensitive to understanding the use of color, light, shadow, perspective, and brush strokes. Today I am a more eclectic adventurous artist.
Thank you for looking at my art. Perhaps you will take it into your home to share with your friends and family what I have been able to express on canvas.
